We are currently operating food and beverage service under Governor Lamont's Executive Order 7MM allowing extension of our food service permit to outdoor space. That executive order expires in March 2022. While we will still be able to offer food and beverages as a to go option after March 2022, we are applying for a permanent zoning that would allow us to operate Seawall Park as an independent outdoor dining and entertainment facility.
We have met with dozens of residents and have received overwhelming support for our activities and plans. Our proposal is consistent with the Town of Stratford Plan Of Conservation and Development, consistent with the area history and historical use of the lots, complementary to the area businesses, and beneficial to the community at large by encouraging use of the Lordship Seawall area as an open-air gathering space and outdoor recreation location.
While we do have tremendous support for our proposal, we still need your help to make Seawall Park a permanent open-air gathering space and outdoor recreation location for the community.
On Wednesday July 28th there was a zoning meeting to review our plans for permanent zoning at Seawall Park. The Public comments are now closed, and now we wait 65 days for a decision, but you can still show support.
Email a letter to Stratford Planning and Zoning telling them you support Seawall Park.
Call the Town Council and tell them you support Seawall Park.
On Wednesday July 28th at 7PM there was a Town Of Stratford Zoning Commission meeting to review our plans for permanent zoning at Seawall Park. While Public comments are now closed the showing of support and opposition was a great thing to see. People realized they had a voice and while they didn’t have to agree, they could compromise. To paraphrase one speaker :Don't be the party of NO, be the party of HOW. Democracy works if we all work at it.
Showing up is important.
